I'm going to have an uncle :)

Aunt Becky went to the beach this weekend with Adam and his family. On Sunday, Adam took Aunt Becky for a walk on the beach, got down on one knee and gave her a sparkly ring. Soon, he's going to be Uncle Adam. I can't wait! And, just in case they're going to have auditions for the role of flower girl, I've started practicing :)
Congratulations Aunt Becky & Adam! Love, Penny

24 Weeks

Penny is 24 weeks. We've been learning to sleep better in our house...we're still working on it, but Penny slept from 7:30pm until 4:30am on Monday night! She's been averaging about 7 straight hours of sleep each night since then :) We're so proud of our big girl!

Penny has been hanging with Nana and Papa this week while Aunt Becky is at the beach. She's been keeping them busy! She's getting very fast with her backwards scootching and frontwards tree frog jumps. She's also starting to sit on her own for a few seconds. She wants to hold her own bottle and can't quite understand why she can't eat sitting up. She's doing so well with solid food. She's loved her apples, pears and carrots. We're having so much fun with this stage and can't wait to see what the next few weeks bring!

Happy Birthday Sophie!

We took a trip to New Jersey today to celebrate our friend Sophie's birthday. It was so nice to catch up with the Villanova crew!

Scooting backwards

Penny has gotten so much stronger in the past few weeks. In addition to her baby-yoga moves, she's started to scoot backwards while she plays on her blanket. This is what playtime looks like these days:

P.S. I like apples :)

Food

I've been watching mommy & daddy eat for months now. Their food looks like it tastes so good. I try my hardest to grab it off their plates, but mommy & daddy are quicker than I am.
Today they tell me that I can finally have some food of my own. And then they give me this.
It's runny and it smells nothing like their food. I'm not so sure about this stuff.
It goes in my mouth and comes right back out. I'm not convinced that this is really food. We'll try again tomorrow! Maybe they'll feed me some of their food soon!

21 weeks

I'm 21 weeks old! It's been super hot here in PA, so we've been having fun inside the past few days. Hopefully things will cool off soon so we can get back outside for our nightly walks.
Lately, I've been wishing that I could freeze time. We have so much fun playing together and she's so aware of her surroundings. Check out how much fun we have during tubby time below! 21 weeks is a pretty amazing age.

Happy 4th of July!

We spent the 4th of July with Nana and Papa (and Aunt Becky and Adam). Penny was sporting her red, white and blue, courtesy of our neighbors (thank you Lisa & Jason for the adorable outfit!).

Penny started her swimming career in a little pool that Nana and Papa bought for her. We decided to skip the fireworks this year. Luckily, Penny slept straight through them on Saturday and Sunday night. We can't wait to watch fireworks with her next summer.
We hope you all had a safe and happy 4th of July! God Bless America and all our family and friends :)

Summer Fun

Penny & Luke took their first trip to the Brew Pub in Manayunk yesterday. It was a beautiful afternoon to sit out by the river. Mommy & Kayte had fun catching up while Daddy, Tommy & Pete discussed where LeBron James will end up next season.

Gerber scholarship contest

We've entered Penelope's photo in the Gerber Baby Photo contest. If she's lucky, she could earn a $25,000 college scholarship.

You can vote for Penny every day by clicking on this link.

Thank you!

Look who came to visit mommy for lunch today! Thanks Daddy! It made mommy's day.
