Baby Sophie

One of my college room mates had a baby in October. We finally made it down to see them :) Penny had a great time meeting her new friend!
And mommy and daddy had a great time catching up with Lisa and Sian.
Talk about a good baby- the only time that she let out a little cry was when I held her...I think my big belly was cramping her style.
After we got home, Penny walked around with her doll, patting her back, saying "it's ok Soph...it's ok baby Soph". LOVE!

She's zero percent baby...

100% Big Girl! She's growing so fast!

Elmo Party

When we asked Penny who she wanted to come to her birthday party, she told us Jesus and Elmo.  Since we just celebrated a Jesus themed Christmas, we thought we'd go with an Elmo theme for her party :) Most of our ideas were found on Pinterest. Here are some shots from the day:
Penny's Elmo dress from Etsy
Elmo cupcakes made by mommy and Nana
Brought to you by the letter P and the number 2!
Since Mommy & Daddy went to their cake pop class recently, they had to make some oreo pops!
Saw the idea for the plates on Pinterest.
Aunt Missy made a puppet theater for Penny...the kids loved it! We danced with our puppets to Elmo's favorite songs.
Our birthday girl blew out her candle and dove into a cupcake on her own this year :)
The aunties enjoyed too!
Penny & Luke and their cupcakes!
Horray for broccoli!

Elmo is no match for Luke!
HUGS from Luke!
More hugs from Liam...Liam loves Penny and wants nothing other than to hug her- she runs away :(

We had a great day! Thanks for helping us celebrate!

Someone's 2!

Penny had a great time on her 2nd birthday!
We started our day with a trip to the grocery store, where we got our Elmo balloon filled. She loved shopping with Elmo!
We stopped at Dunkin Donuts to buy daddy a donut and picked up one for Penny too. She shared with Elmo.
Yum!
After daddy woke up, we opened some presents.
She got her very own photo memory book, filled with pictures and messages from the people who love her.
Then we got ready for our ride on the choo choo train.
Penny loves the train!
Why do you ride a train...to get a milkshake of course!
Girlfriend is serious about her Ruby's shakes! Vanilla please :)
After our train rides, daddy had to go to play water polo and Nana & Papa came to visit. They spoiled Penny with a brand new easel.
She opened more presents (thanks Aunt Terra for my Mr. Potato Head).
And then enjoyed some birthday cake- Papa brought her an ice cream cake.
What an excellent birthday!
We can't believe you're 2...you amaze us every day and we are having a blast watching you grow and learn! Happy 2nd birthday big girl!

A visit from Emily & Chloe

Emily, Chloe & Aunt Mary came to visit this past weekend.
Penny was shaking with excitement as they came to the door :)
They brought dress up clothes to play with...

...and Penny has been talking about Princess Emily and Princess Chloe ever since:
Penny loved that they knew her favorite songs- they sang the hokey pokey together!
And they brought her some really fun birthday presents, like her new saxoflute- she's been having fun making noises to her music!
We went out to dinner and Penny loved every second! Thanks so much for making the trip down to visit! Can't wait to see you again!
