Over the river and through the woods...

To grandmother's house we go! Penny took her first road trip this weekend. We headed to Orwigsburg for my friend Jen's wedding shower and spent Friday night at Nana Lou and Poppa's house. The ride home was a little rough, but Penny loved their house...there were so many ceiling fans to stare at! She loved looking around the new place so much that she stayed up until 3am. She wasn't fussy- she was just staring at everything and anything she could see.

My dad and RC watched Penny while my mom & I went to Jen's bridal shower. It was so great to see the high school girls and Jen's mom certainly knows how to throw a shower! We are really excited for her wedding in May.

While Penny was home, she met my dad's parents. She is the first great grandchild on the Kadingo side. Penny also met her Maime, Marian. It was a nice weekend :)

We can't wait to...

Since we spend quite a bit of time together these days, I often tell Penny about all the adventures I can't wait to have with her. She smiles and grunts and sometimes falls asleep, but I take that as a sign that she's just growing so that we can start on our adventures. We can't wait to:

  • Play dress up
  • Go swimming
  • Jump in puddles on a rainy day
  • Visit every playground we can find until we pick our favorite
  • Watch Annie and sing along to all the songs
  • Play hopscotch on the driveway
  • Jumprope (maybe even double dutch)
  • Play Miss Mary Mack (or Miss Grandma Mc as the Fitz cousins play)
  • Bake cookies for daddy
  • French braid her hair
  • Go to Knoebel's
  • Take her to Bloomsburg
  • Visit a pumpkin patch
  • Have fun letting her add to the list!

Six weeks old

Miss Penny is six weeks old today :) I can't believe I'm halfway through my maternity leave :( I wish I could watch her grow like this forever.

Think Spring :)

We had a sunshine filled weekend with temps in the 70's. We took full advantage and headed outside for some walks around the neighborhood. Penny seems to enjoy the walks- she stays awake and alert the entire time. We saw our first flower in mommy's garden :) We are looking forward to logging many more miles in the stroller!

The Kadingo Aunties Spoil Penny and Mommy!

Penny & I were spoiled this past weekend! All three of my sisters came to visit :) Aunt Nicole came home from Chicago just in time to celebrate Penny's one-month mark. She stayed with us for a few days. Our house has never been cleaner and our bellies were full! Penny loved sleeping in her arms and mommy loved having someone to talk to during the late-night feedings. Aunt Missy, Aunt Becky, Nana and Poppa came to play while Nicole was in town. Penny loved the attention...so much so that she's decided she wants to sleep in my arms all day and all night now that the aunties and grandparents are gone!

Penny also met our friend Gina, who was home from Houston for a week of work and wedding planning. Thanks so much for coming to meet Miss Penny :)

One Month Old

Penny is one month old today. Aunt Nicole is here to help us celebrate :) At her one month check-up, Penny weighed 8 lbs. 14 oz. She is growing everyday. Right now, she loves to play in her gym after her naps and she really likes when we sing to her. We can hold her attention with the book Snuggle Puppy, because we sing the words. We love watching as she learns about her world!

Penny and her friends

Penny would like to make a shout-out to her friends who've stopped by to visit over the past week. She loved spending time with Kerri, Kayte & Tommy, Keilee & Jeff, Peggy & Kellie and Kate! As you can see from the photos, she's getting lots of love and attention :) We can't thank you all enough for everything you've done for us!

3 WEEKS OLD!

Our little lady is 3 weeks old today! She is growing and learning every day. We have more awake time during the day. She's starting to make eye contact with us and she recognizes our voices.

My college room mate Kerri came to visit us last night. Penny slept in her arms the entire visit!
