A Visit with the Audiologist

Porter had his first audiologist visit today. We will be visiting with the audiologist every few months to make sure Porter can hear. Because his ears are lower set and because his ear/sinus/nose structure is a little smaller than a typical six month old, he's at a higher risk for hearing loss due to fluid build up.
He had a few different tests done today and he did great! He is having some issues with negative pressure, which is a little concerning, but not uncommon given his anatomy. As a precaution and to get a baseline for future visits, we attempted another test that is normally performed under sedation, but in his natural state of sleep. He slept like an angel and we were able to complete a test where they checked his response to different sound frequencies. He responded to all frequencies, which tells us that he can hear :). We had a great visit and look forward to seeing our audiologist again...bonus- she went to Bloomsburg!
Here's little man sleeping after his test...I didn't have the heart to pull the stickey off while he was sleeping.

Bubby's 1st Trip to the Beach

Porter and Penny made an appearance at the shore during the Fitzpatrick family vacation week.  They were loved on from every which direction. First in line to hold Porter was Jane :) She LOVES her Porter! Gavin and Liam took good care of Porter too! Their dad, Adam, played "Call Me Maybe" on his guitar for Penny and has been talked about every day since :)
Beach time! Three pale Thompson's in need of some sun.
Becky was a HUGE help...we couldn't have made the trip without her help! Thanks Aunt Becky!
Becky and her Bubby :)
Sleepy cousins :)
Porter and Godmother Maureen catching some sun :)
Penny playing with Berkley
My sandy girl!
Porter catching some love from Aunt Kathy.
We had a great visit with the cousins and loved our beach day. Can't wait to do it again soon! Thanks Fitz cousins for another amazing memory!

Food :)

Who eats the entire serving of their first bowl of rice cereal? Porter!
I'm ready mom!
This is good!
More please!
"Why did you wait me wait for so long?" he seemed to be saying!

He's a belly sleeper

Porter has officially decided that he wants to sleep on his belly. We put him to sleep on his back and wake up to find this most mornings :)

Sleepy boy

Poor Porter has his first cold :( We're up at night coughing and down for the count during the day. How adorable is this sleepy little man? He put himself to sleep on his side after playing and didn't stand a chance during our quick trip to the grocery store!
Feel better Bubby!

Congratulations Aunt Nicole & Uncle Dave!

We had an amazing day celebrating with Aunt Nicole & Uncle Dave. Penny had a blast playing the role of flower girl :) And Porter voiced his happiness by letting out the biggest burp ever during the ceremony, which sent laughter through out the church!
Penny got to sing Call Me Maybe at the reception and she had her favorite dinner- Mac & Cheese and Chicken Fingers, followed by cupcakes. Perfect day :)
Thanks for letting us share in your special day! Welcome to the family Dave!

Coolest Favor Ever!

Thank you so much Aunt Nic & Uncle Dave!

Pennysims

This is her cheese face.

Last week in church, there were two teenage girls sitting in front of us. I was thinking their shorts were more than a little short for church, but Penny confirmed it. "Look mommy, they're wearing big girl pants!"  Yes, Penny thought their shorts were undies :)

Like mommy & daddy, Penny is loving the Olympics. During a backstroke race, she screams out "Oh yay. They're swimming the backfloat."  Then during the IM, we told her they were swimming breaststroke and she said "No, they're swimming the belly stroke." Can't wait for her to join swim team :)

This week in the middle of mass, she turns to me and says "what song are we going to sing next? Is Father going to sing Call Me Maybe?"

We've been potty training. The other morning, Penny made some poopies on the potty and we were celebrating. She stopped mid-dance and screamed "Oh, I think the pee-pees are coming," sat down and did her thing and then continued on with her dance :)

Timmy's Grad Party

If a picture speaks a thousand words, these smiles speak millions:
Jane absolutely LOVED meeting Porter. She told us we could come to the beach with her, but "bring your baby. Make sure you bring your baby!"
Claire & Matt. Uncle Mike...Porter was a superstar at Timmy's graduation party!
And here is the graduate himself.  So proud of all our cousins! And so incredibly happy that Timmy (and Amanda) will be heading to St. Joe's this fall. We can't wait to come visit them on campus!
Jane taking another turn holding Porter :) She would have held him all afternoon!
Godmother Maureen had to sneak in a turn ;)
More love for the Bubbs!
We are blessed!

Aunt Nic's Bridal Shower

This post has been sitting in a draft for weeks now.  There is so much I want to show and say, but for now, we'll have to do with some photos.  We had a bridal shower for Aunt Nicole a few weeks ago. Thanks so much to everyone who attended and showered her with love and amazing gifts!
And THANK YOU to everyone who loved on my littles during the event :) I can't tell you how lucky we are! We've got amazing friends and family!
Porter loves every second with Godmother Maureen!
And Penny loves to take charge- she was helping Aunt Nic open presents :)
We surprised Aunt Nic- she thought she was coming over to watch P&P...I think she was a little dissapointed when she realized we were going out for dinner and drinks instead of staying home with the kiddos!
Porter had a nice time meeting Sue!
Thanks everyone for an awesome day!

First tooth!

Bubby's first tooth broke through this morning :) He has a little fever :( And he occasionally bites down on his thumb and tongue, which hurts! It's really sharp!

Just one more day where we realize that he's growing up too fast!
