Fun in St. Louis

I took my first airplane ride on Tuesday. I was such a good girl on the plane. I played for a bit and then I took a nap on mommy. At the end of the flight, when we stood up, the people who sat behind us said they didn't even realize there was a baby sitting near them, which was quite a compliment!
I had a great time at Grandma & Grandpa's in St. Louis!
Grandma cleaned up some of Daddy's toys and let me play with them.
And Aunt Megan & Terra let me borrow their toy stroller. I got to see what Daddy looked like in HS.
Aunt Terra gave me good things to eat. And Chris tossed me up in the air!
I met Alana,
Andria and AdamAnd John.Aunt Megan and Chris played with me.And Aunt Megan made me laugh like crazy!I got to help out in the kitchen.I met Bill and took a car ride with him to the airport.I helped everyone exercise by running laps around the house.I love being a Thompson!
I had so much fun on my trip. The airplane ride home was great! Hope you all had a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Love, Penny

Grandma- thanks for reenacting the first Thanksgiving with me. You were a pretty Pilgrim and I was a super cute Indian! Grandpa- thanks for playing airport taxi!
Thanks for everything you did to make it feel like home! Thanks for getting me a place to sleep and a place to eat, for making sure my tushie stayed dry, for feeding me all that delicious food and for spending so much time playing with me. 40 weeks

Penny is 40 weeks old today!
She's feeling a little under the weather :(
We had our 9 month doctor's visit this morning. We skipped our shots and we'll get them when she's feeling better.
She's hitting all her milestones and she's ready to start eating more table food.
She weighs 18 lbs. 3 oz. and she's 28.5 inches long.

Penny and her friend Mason

Aunt Heidi & I took a trip up to Pittston to visit our friend Melissa.
Melissa's son Mason is a week older than Penny. They had such a great time playing together!
Heidi, Melissa and I had fun catching up too! We lived on the same floor freshman year and we're all accountants. Yes, we're super cool!

Penny & Mason can't wait for their next playdate!

The Wheels on the Bus

Here is Penny with her favorite toy- the School Bus. Penny loves the School Bus. She gets so excited each time the bus starts to sing "the wheels on the bus go round and round". Notice that the people are not riding the bus- the first thing she does every time we play with the bus is toss the driver, boy, girl and dog :) She loves to play with the people, but she doesn't like the people to play on the bus.
The giggles in this video are quite loud! Enjoy!

She's almost walking!

I can finally upload videos again. Here's a video of Penny walking around our house on Halloween!

Playground Fun

It was a nice, sunny day today, so we decided to hit the playground. Since it's frosted a few times, we're hoping Penny's allergies won't bother her. Penny had a great time playing on the swings, slide and bouncer.Sliding down the slide with daddy's help.Swinging like a big girl.Bouncy! Bouncy!Higher mommy!

Aren't my giggles the best thing ever?

9 Months Old!

I'm nine months old today......and I am full of giggles.

We go to the doctor in a few days, so we'll list Penny's nine month stats soon.
But, here are nine of our favorite things at nine months:

  1. Penny's really getting into her toys. Right now, her favorite toy is a school bus. It's a hand me down from Aunt Mary, Uncle Tomas, Emily and Chloe (THANK YOU!!!). Penny loves the songs that the bus sings and she loves the people who play on the bus (she likes them best outside the bus). You should hear her talk and laugh as she plays along with "the wheels on the bus".
  2. She says "hi" and waves at the appropriate time. It's the best first thing in the morning, when I walk into her room! She also says "hey" when she wants to see what's going on in another room.
  3. Penny knows that when the garage door opens, daddy is home from work. She gets so excited! She whispers "dada" until he comes inside and then she giggles like crazy when he walks through the door.
  4. We've started to brush Penny's teeth at night and she thinks it's so funny! She loves to stand on the bathroom vanity and dance in front of the mirror while we brush her teeth.
  5. Penny wants to feed herself. She loves her cheerios and puffs. She's starting to eat small pieces of avacados, plums, peas and other fruits and veggies. She's not too sure about the new foods, but she's trying them.
  6. She's getting ready to walk. She has so much fun pushing her wagon around the family room and she'll walk all over if you're holding her hands.
  7. Diaper changes have become an adventure. Penny no longer lays still when it's diaper change time. She'll let you take the dirty diaper off, but you have to wrestle with her to get a new diaper and clean clothes on her squirmy little body.
  8. Penny still loves the bath and she's much easier to handle in the tub these days. She's doing very well with sitting in the tub. She loves to splash and play with her tub turtles and fish.
  9. Penny is much more interested in books. Right now she has two favorite books- Farm Peek-A-Boo that my friend Lori gave her (she loves to open the pages and looks at me until I say peek-a-boo, can you say moo moo) and Little Duck, a finger puppet book that my co-worker Kathleen gave her.

Nine months is so much fun!

Another weekend

Here's what I did this weekend. I listened to some jams on daddy's headphones. I had a horsey race with Aunt Missy.I hung out with Aunt Becky and Adam.
I giggled with Aunt Heidi.
And talked about cars with Lori. Aren't my keys cool?
How did you spend your weekend?
love, Penny
P.S. This time change stuff is for the birds!

You better watch out!

At 38 weeks, she's surprisingly proficient at climbing the stairs!
We've got our work cut out for us!

And she knows it!
We wouldn't have it any other way :)
